Gratitude from a Freecycler

Freecycle is an online organization with groups in many locations. It facilitates the transfer of unwanted items to people who do want them. I’ve been a member for a couple of years and around this time last year, I saw a post from someone looking for a bread machine. I happened to have one around I wasn’t using, so I contacted her and she came to pick it up. Last evening, I got the following email:
“Just wanted to say thank you again for the breadmaker. I use it at least once a week, on Sunday. It has become a “give us this day our daily bread” type thing. More often than not we make a loaf of bread on Sunday and Wednesday, and rolls for hamburgers on Friday. We have used this machine for rolls, pretzels, bread, and cakes. It has been the best gift I have ever received. The recipe book is on the counter all the time, but I have the basic bread receipe memorized now. 🙂

Thank you so much for freecycling. Your kindness is greatly appreciated!”

I was so moved that she took the time to email me a year later to let me know how much she appreciated getting the gadget. If you want to start freecycling, check it out at

  2. I love this, times a million. That’s what it’s all about. The simplicity of loving and serving one another. Beautiful.
