Outta my way, I’m on an anti-pornography rant!

One of my friends posted this as her facebook status today:

“Just spent my lunch at chipotle over hearing two pretty guys discuss how one guy’s wife just had a baby and the other guy’s wife is pregnant and how they just are not attracted anymore, they were really feeling so sorry for themselves saying it is going to be such a struggle for them, etc. They never once addressed their wives’ feelings and experiences.”

These men’s attitude is truly despicable. I’m so outraged by it I can hardly type. Here their wives are having their babies, and all they can think of is the physical appearance of the bodies of the mothers of their children. What of the loving gift she has just given you of nurturing your child within her body? What of the trauma and pain of the birth itself? If she is breastfeeding, she continues to feed and literally keep your baby alive with that body. She is the one not sleeping and in physical contact with the tiny helpless human you created. And you “just are not attracted.” Can you hear me sputtering and see my eyes bugging out at what complete horrible idiots you are, Chipotle pretty boys!

I think a lot of this has to do with pornography use and places like strip clubs and Hooters. The men who are consumers of this smut are never going to be satisfied with a normal woman, certainly not one that has recently given birth. My husband is a divorce lawyer and tells me that pornography use comes up ALL THE TIME in marriages that are destroyed. Wives just can never measure up. Some of my facebook friends have “liked” Hooters and places like that, and if you read this and are offended, well, I’m sorry about that, but you ought not be going in there. Those places objectify women. Do you want your sweet little daughter working at Hooters? Do you want her dancing on a pole? All those girls are somebody’s sweet little daughter. But everybody does it? No. They don’t, and you shouldn’t either.
